A Mother’s Blessing Ceremony is an intimate ceremony and celebration where the mother-to-be gathers with her closest circle of women (family and friends) to honour and celebrate her rite of passage which is becoming a mother.

The intention of a Mamma Blessing is to support and prepare the expectant mother for her upcoming birth and role as a mother, physically, mentally and emotionally. It is inspired by the traditions of an ancient Navajo ceremony called a Blessing Way.

Traditional baby showers tend to centre around showering the baby with gifts. A Mama Blessing ceremony offers the opportunity to come together in a spiritual setting and share in a sacred time of reflection, support and celebration that is focused on the mother-to-be.

It’s all about nurturing and empowering the mother-to-be in a safe environment surrounded by the most important women in her life, a very powerful and healing experience for each of the participants.

Kumali’s Mamma Blessing Offering

I offer personalised ceremonies that will be tailored to embrace the uniqueness of the expected mother and honour the divine feminine. I facilitate a grounded, safe space for you to release any fears or doubts you may have and to receive support and blessings from your tribe.

Step into a transformative experience crafted just for you!

We’ll open the circle with a shamanic drum session and a grounding meditation, the women in the circle will tell stories of motherhood, offer blessings for your birth, and hold space for you to clear any doubts, listening with presence and kindness. We will honour and empower you in creative and fun ways.

    Creating space both of the physical and the linear with Ana was smooth and easy.

    She has the ability to gently navigate the practicalities required in gathering women without the sensation of overwhelm that can come from being full and pregnant, trying to navigate social interactions.

    In the build up to my blessing there was a lot of swirling emotions and feeling that hadn’t quite landed, including the practicals of where and who. But ceremony came together in a gorgous gathering in my home, outside with a gorgous fusion of my treasures, co-contributed alter pieces to bring in other sparklings of magic, as well as Ana’s ability to work in and around you to cleanse and create a space worthy of all women to be in. By closing of circle, I felt much more grounded and balanced and had full trust in the support that was there for me leading into birthing number 2.

    I felt held, and it was beautiful to sit in circle with those Women I treasure.

    So if you have seen images of blessing but haven’t had the pleasure of experiencing one, you can be assured to place full trust in Ana to intuitively support you, gather your closest women, and hold you as you transition the birth portal. Whether it’s a first birth maiden journey, or other babes you need to hold space and anchor to, Ana will create.
